In 1974 Fábrica de Calzado Rómulo was founded by Mr. Romulo Marín in the city of Cali, Colombia. He discovered shoemaking while delivering the lunches his mother sold. He learned the craft of shoemaking because one of the clients was a shoemaker.

In 1976 Rómulo Marín traveled to the United States and was employed by one of the most recognized shoe companies in the country, becoming one of the most important designers.

In 1982 “Clínica de Calzado Dr. Rómulo Marín” was the name of the first workshop located in his house, where he manufactured between 6 to 8 pairs of shoes daily.

In 1988 Fábrica de Calzado Rómulo is legally established.

In 1993 The factory moves to a facility with a capacity of 10 warehouses and approximately 400 workers, with daily production of 1,000 pairs and 20,000 monthly.

In 1999 It experienced national growth with the opening of 13 stores nationwide and international representation in countries such as Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, and Aruba.

In 2002 Difficulties arose with the Venezuelan market, leading to a crisis that brought the company to Law 550 of insolvency in June 2003. The law was successfully used to halt the crisis that threatened the complete closure of the factory.

In 2007 Recovering from the crisis, he sought to expand the production plant by moving to a site of over 3,200 square meters in the Los Mangos Industrial Zone in the city of Cali, Colombia.

In 2016 Contributing to the company's growth, Rómulo Marín decided to unify 7 plants, expanding his business vision and opening its doors to generate more employment by moving to Vereda Arroyo Hondo in the Acopi sector, in the Valle del Cauca department, Colombia.

In 2019 Today, it has managed to establish itself as a company dedicated to the production, distribution, and commercialization of footwear. It is one of the footwear industry companies with the most projection in the country, strengthening its presence in different Latin American countries and achieving daily productions of 7,000 pairs of shoes.
